The Solar Impulse team prepares for a new test flight scheduled for this evening.
After the success of the 26-hour flight, flying day and night solely on solar energy, and a well-earned summer break, a new test flight is scheduled for this Thursday, 2 September 2010, in the airspace above the Payerne airbase. The weather forecast is good.
André Borschberg will be at the controls of the solar plane, aiming to carry out a low-altitude flight and a night landing.
The take off should take place at around 19:00. The flight is expected to last two hours, depending on how successful the mission is and the weather conditions.
